Dr. King with his motorhome The Lady
<< Back to Chapter 9: Blaze of Glory
During a phase of Operation Power Light, Dr. King is seen standing next to his Lazy Daze motorhome at Nobi Point, Avila Beach, California.
After a thorough and exhaustive search for the type of small motorhome that would provide the type of quality build, comfort but also the reliability that he felt necessary, especially as it was to be used as a mission base, Dr. King settled on a Lazy Daze, custom built to his specifications.
Soon after placing his order, Dr. King underwent two very serious, life-threatening operations only nine days apart. The recovery was a difficult one, for him and his team helping him in Santa Barbara.
While recovering he was given manufacturing updates on the progress of the Lazy Daze, which gave him much happiness. Two staff team members even drove out to the Lazy Daze manufacturing facility about 120 miles away, and took photos of the work being done on Dr. King’s Lazy Daze, to keep him updated. Dr. King later referred to the motorhome as The Lady.
All of this, along with the outstanding care he received, and a strong will, had a positive impact in helping Dr. King in his recovery.
