As the years progressed, Dr. King started to spend more time at his small bungalow in Santa Barbara, previously purchased by a generous donor because of its proximity to a psychic center of the Mother Earth, off Goleta Point.

Santa Barbara also acted as an important missions base. As well as this, it gave Dr. King an environment in which he could find moments of relaxation, not possible at the Los Angeles Headquarters. In the late 1980s, he began to spend longer periods there, largely because of his deteriorating health, but he still involved himself deeply on all aspects of The Aetherius Society until his final days.
