His Eminence received over 600 cosmic transmissions while acting as a medium for the cosmic masters. The deep trance state used was a samadhic trance, during which he would raise kundalini in full and lodge it in a high psychic center (chakra). The consciousness was focused tightly upon a beam or beams of mental energy projected by a cosmic master or cosmic masters, who then used the vocal apparatus of His Eminence to verbalize their message so that it could be both heard and recorded. This type of trance condition is extremely demanding and very dangerous. Because of this, as His Eminence grew older, his focus turned to what was called mental transmissions, which he described as follows:

“The type of trance that I have used just lately is a very, very light one. It would not be recognized as a trance condition really, and that is why I call it a mental transmission or a mental telepathic communication.

“There is one thing it is not! It is not like picking up the telephone and giving your order for boot polish! It is far more complex than that!

“My general procedure regarding taking a mental transmission is, first of all, to record it. I ask questions and repeat the answers into a tape recorder. Afterwards, we make a copy of that tape recording and then a typist transcribes it. You know, these mental transmissions are spoken, they are not written. I do not have a big sheet of paper in front of me that I just read off. They are very spontaneous and so we put them into order so that they will read well. If any part needs explaining, we explain it. I do not need explanations, but you do, and future generations need explanations!”
